GDPR-compliant monitoring

Uptime monitoring that fits your GDPR documentation.

Monitoring tools see URLs, IP addresses, status pages with your customers as subscribers and alert contacts of your team. m0nitor keeps that data with a German company in German data centres, so the answer in your record of processing activities is short.

What data a monitoring tool processes

  • Account data of your team: names, email addresses, phone numbers for SMS alerts
  • Email addresses of status page subscribers, confirmed by double opt-in
  • Targets you monitor, such as URLs, hostnames and IP addresses
  • Check results and incident timelines

How m0nitor handles it

Stored data stays in German data centres. Two services see data in transit: transactional email goes through Microsoft 365, and the website sits behind the Cloudflare CDN. Both work under Art. 28 GDPR agreements with EU standard contractual clauses. Sub-processors and retention periods are listed in the privacy policy.

Accounts are protected with passkeys or two-factor authentication, project roles limit who can change what, and security-relevant actions are written to an activity log.

For your documentation

  • Read the privacy policy : It lists every processing purpose, legal basis, sub-processor and retention period.
  • Download the DPA : The data processing agreement is available in the customer area after sign-up.
  • Check security : The security page describes authentication, roles and hosting.

Plan availability

All plans, including the free plan with 20 monitors, run in the same German infrastructure.
